Motorcyclist Dies in Tragic Merseyside Crash
Merseyside Police are hunting for witnesses after a fatal crash this morning. At around 7.55am, a Kia Sportage smashed into a 36-year-old male motorcyclist on Stadium Road, near the junction with Commercial Road.
Man Dies Despite Emergency Aid
Tragically, the biker died at the scene despite immediate medical efforts. His family have been informed and are receiving support from specially trained officers.
Kia Driver Arrested for Causing Death by Careless Driving
The 52-year-old Kia driver stayed at the scene and has now been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. He remains in police custody as inquiries continue.
Inspector Tim Pottle from Roads Policing said: “Our sincere thoughts are with the man’s family at this tragic time, and they are being supported by specially trained officers.”
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
Despite the arrest, police need the public’s help to piece together what happened. They urge anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage from the area at the time to come forward.
Inspector Pottle added: “If you captured anything on camera, please check your footage promptly and contact us.”
