West Yorkshire Police are urgently hunting a man linked to a brutal attack on a taxi driver in Bingley. The violent assault happened on Littlelands at about 3:30am on Saturday, 12 April 2025. The driver suffered facial injuries and his cab was wrecked in the fracas.

Taxi Driver Attacked After Fare Row

Bradford District Police revealed the attack erupted from a dispute over the fare between the driver and a male passenger. The suspect flew into a rage and punched the taxi driver, leaving him with facial injuries. The thug also damaged the taxi before fleeing on foot.

The injured driver was treated for his wounds and is now recovering. Police are treating this as a serious assault and are pursuing all leads in their ongoing investigation.

A 2022 report from the Department for Transport warned of rising dangers to taxi drivers. It recommended installing in-car CCTV and emergency alert systems—tools that could be vital to preventing attacks like this.
