Firefighters Hospitalised After Firework Thrown Through Southampton Station Window
Chaos erupted at Southampton fire station last night when a lit firework was hurled through the window, injuring two brave firefighters. Both were rushed to hospital but thankfully released later that night. Police have launched a full investigation.
Fire Service Condemns “Reckless” Attack
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Service’s Assistant Director of Operations, Dan Tasker, slammed the shocking act. He said, “The consequences of this deeply unpleasant incident could have been much worse. We’re thankful our firefighters were not seriously hurt.”
Tasker added, “They are both being supported. We urge anyone with information to contact the police. Our job is to protect the community, and attacks on our people will never be tolerated.”
Bonfire Night Warning: Handle Fireworks Responsibly
With Bonfire Night just around the corner, Tasker made a direct plea to the public. “Fireworks are explosives—they can cause serious, lasting damage. Please talk to your family about safe use, and if you see any reckless behaviour, report it immediately.”
