Shock in Mitcham: Man Found Dead After Being Set on Fire

Police have named the victim in a grim Mitcham murder investigation as 23-year-old Loeike Guei from Thornton Heath. He was found dead after reports of a man on fire in Commonside East early on Thursday, 17 September.

Suspicious Death with Head Injury Confirmed

Officers arrived at the scene around 6:12am and discovered Loeike’s body. A post-mortem revealed a head injury as the likely cause of death. The case is being treated as suspicious, with no arrests made so far.

Specialist Crime Command Leads Investigation

Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley is heading the probe. He urged witnesses to come forward. “Loeike’s family are devastated and need privacy while they grieve,” he said. “We are following multiple leads but need the public’s help to solve this. Even small details could be vital.”
