Four Arrested After Hit-and-Run Leaves Man in Critical Condition

A 58-year-old man was struck by a car on a grim night in Birmingham — and four arrests have now been made.

Hit-and-Run Horror on Muntz Street

The victim was hit by a Seat Leon between Muntz Street and Charles Road at around 11pm yesterday. The driver briefly stopped but then fled the scene, leaving the man critically injured.

Police Nab Four Suspects at Station

Not long after, three teenagers aged 17 and a 19-year-old man turned themselves in at a Birmingham police station. They were promptly arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

The injured man remains in hospital battling for his life.

Detectives Urge Witnesses to Come Forward

“Our investigation is making good progress and we’ve already spoken to several witnesses,” said Det Sgt Paul Hughes from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit. “But I’d urge anyone with dash cam, helmet cam, or CCTV footage to get in touch.”
