Man Slashed on Head in Shocking High Street Attack
On Saturday, 23 April 2022, a man in his 40s was brutally assaulted on the High Street between Commercial Road and Esplanade. The attack happened between 8.30pm and 8.45pm when the victim was struck on the head with an unknown object.
Victim Suffers Deep Cut, Rushed to Hospital
The victim suffered a serious head wound, requiring a deep cut to be treated by paramedics at the scene before he was rushed to hospital for further medical care. The injury needed multiple stitches.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
PC Nick Pebody, leading the investigation, described the assault as unprovoked: “This was an unprovoked assault that left the victim requiring a large number of stitches.”
He added: “We have been examining CCTV footage and carrying out enquiries in the area. We urge anyone who witnessed the attack or has dashcam footage to get in touch.”
