Workmen Hold Down Knifeman After Brutal Anti-Jewish Attack in Stoke Newington

Brave workmen stepped in to detain a knifeman who launched a shocking hate crime attack in broad daylight on Stoke Newington High Street this Friday morning.

Man Stabbed in Horrific Race Hate Assault

Witnesses say a lone attacker targeted a Hasidic Jewish man outside a café, stabbing/" title="Stabbing" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">stabbing him multiple times. The victim, a man in his 50s, was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

Public Heroes Stop Suspect Until Police Arrive

A group of workmen who witnessed the assault sprang into action, pinning the attacker to the ground and holding him until officers arrived.

A Met Police spokesman said:

“At 10.54am police were called to reports of a male being restrained on Stoke Newington High Street, N16. Officers and London Ambulance Service attended. A man in his 50s was found suffering stab wounds. Another man, aged in his 40s, had been restrained on the floor by members of the public.”

Suspect Arrested, Both Men Taken to Hospital

The knifeman, also in his 40s, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He suffered minor head injuries and was taken to hospital.

The victim is also currently receiving medical care. Police have confirmed the attack is not being treated as terror-related.
