Tragedy in Shadwell: 11-year-old girl dies after mysterious incident

Fatiha Sabrin, just 11 years old, was found unresponsive alongside her mother and brother by a family friend at their home in Shadwell on Saturday afternoon. The young girl, praised as a fantastic writer with dreams of becoming a doctor, was rushed to hospital but sadly passed away shortly after.

Mystery Surrounds Sudden Death

A Met Police spokesman confirmed that at 4.12pm on December 11, officers were called to Sutton Street, E1, following reports from London Ambulance Service about the unresponsive child. Despite paramedics’ efforts, Fatiha was pronounced dead at an East London hospital.

“Next of kin have been informed,” the spokesman said. “A special post-mortem examination is planned. The death is currently being treated as unexplained.”

Multiple Residents Affected, Building Evacuated

Several other people in the same building reported feeling unwell and received medical treatment. Three individuals remain in hospital, with their conditions unknown.

As a safety measure, others living in the block were evacuated and are now being cared for by local authorities.

Chemicals Found – Possible Pest Control Link

The London Fire Brigade carried out a full sweep of the building and discovered a quantity of chemicals believed to be used for pest control. These substances will be safely removed while an investigation continues to find out how they ended up on the premises.

Police stressed that inquiries into the heartbreaking incident are ongoing.
