Murder Probe Launched After Man Found Dead Near Middlesbrough Woodland

Police have opened a murder investigation after the body of 39-year-old Tomasz Dembler was found in woodland close to Flatts Lane Country Park, Normanby, Middlesbrough.

Tomasz, originally from Poland, had called the UK home for the past 20 years. Recently based in Middlesbrough, he previously lived in 1, County Durham.

A devoted father with family both in Poland and the UK, detectives are piecing together Tomasz’s recent movements leading up to his death.

Investigation Underway – Police Appeal for Help

Detectives revealed Tomasz was likely killed sometime between mid-March and the discovery of his body on Monday 12 April at 3.25pm. Officers believe this was a targeted attack and are digging deep to uncover the truth.

Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Matt Murphy-King, urged the public to come forward with any information.

“We have a team of homicide investigators analysing every lead to unravel what happened to Tomasz,” said DCI Murphy-King.

“We understand this is a shocking time, especially for Tomasz’s family, who we are supporting fully.

“The Polish community and locals will understandably be concerned, but there is no evidence of a wider threat at this point.

“Forensic teams remain at the scene, and patrols are ongoing. We urge anyone with information to come forward—anonymously if preferred—via Crimestoppers.”
