Cop Booted for Shocking Abuse and False Imprisonment
PC Isaque Rodrigues-Leite, once stationed with the Roads and Transport Policing Command, has been sacked without notice after a damning misconduct hearing. He’s now barred from ever re-joining the police force.
Damning Misconduct Hearing Ends Career
The hearing on Monday, 18 December confirmed PC Rodrigues-Leite breached professional standards through discreditable conduct. This came after a string of criminal convictions.
Convicted of Horrific Crimes Over Two Years
Back in November, Croydon Crown Court found him guilty of:
- Four counts of false imprisonment
- Two counts of assault
- One count of coercive and controlling behaviour
- One count of criminal damage
These offences took place between 2019 and 2020 against a woman he knew, involving ongoing threats and intimidation.
Police Praise Tenacious Investigation
Detective Superintendent Christina Jessah, Roads & Transport Policing Unit, slammed Rodrigues-Leite’s behaviour as “abhorrent”. She said:
“We do not want people who commit such offences working in the Met and our professional standards investigators will continue to be relentless in their pursuit of officers who let down their colleagues and Londoners.”
The victim bravely came forward in September 2020, which led to Rodrigues-Leite’s arrest and suspension.
Next Step: Sentencing at Croydon
Rodrigues-Leite faces sentencing at Croydon Crown Court on 16 January 2024. His police career is now definitively over.
