Teen Held Over Shocking Murder of James Markham
A 14-year-old boy was charged today with the murder of 45-year-old James Markham, who died after a stabbing on 9 August.
Multiple Charges and Court Appearance
The teenager faces charges of murder, possession of a knife in public, and breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO). He is set to appear at Stratford Youth Court later today.
A second 14-year-old, arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder, has been released under investigation. Meanwhile, a 16-year-old held for assisting an offender is also released under investigation.
Harrowing Incident at Local Terrace
Police were called to a disturbance at 1 Terrace just after 6.20pm on Monday. James was found seriously injured and, despite efforts from emergency services and bystanders, sadly died at the scene.
Specialist officers are supporting James’s next of kin as the investigation continues.
