Search for Missing Woman Kayleigh Weston Ends in Tragedy
Detectives have called off the search for Kayleigh Weston, who vanished from Longton on April 22. Tragically, her body was found on open land off Dorcas Drive, Blurton, on the night of Thursday, May 20.
Police Confirm Fatal Discovery
Staffordshire Police recovered the body believed to be 33-year-old Kayleigh after nearly a month-long search. Detective Inspector Scott McGrath from CID North said the victim’s family has been informed and is receiving police support during this heartbreaking time.
“Kayleigh’s family have been informed and our thoughts and condolences are with them at this very difficult time. They are being supported by police officers,” said DI McGrath. “This has been a tragic incident that has saddened everyone involved.”
Investigation Continues
Formal identification of the body will take place in due course. Meanwhile, detectives will press on with their enquiries and prepare a report for HM Coroner as the investigation unfolds.
