An 18-year-old man has been arrested after a man was allegedly attacked by a group outside Beckenham Junction station, prompting a police response that led to the recovery of a silver handgun.
Police were called to the scene just after 7:30pm on Tuesday, 15 April, following reports of a group fighting near the station entrance.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that a small group of men had allegedly attacked another man. A search of the area led to the discovery of the handgun, and the teenager was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and possession of Class B drugs, believed to be cannabis.
He was taken into custody and remains under police questioning.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said:
“Police were called at 19:32hrs on Tuesday, 15 April to reports of a group fighting outside Beckenham station. Officers attended, where a small group of men had allegedly attacked another man.
A silver handgun was retrieved, and an 18-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of possession of a firearm and possession of Class B drugs. He remains in custody for questioning.”
The Metropolitan Police are now working alongside the British Transport Police (BTP) to investigate the incident.
