Emergency Services Rush to Erith Railway Station After Person Reported Trackside

Emergency services were deployed to Erith Railway Station this morning after reports of a person trackside, prompting a swift response and temporary disruption to rail services.

The incident occurred at Erith Station on Stonewood Road,, with British Transport Police (BTP) and crews from the London Fire Brigade (LFB) attending the scene alongside railway personnel and paramedics.

Emergency Response Underway

The alarm was raised just after 8am on Monday 24th March 2025 with fire engines, police units and paramedics dispatched to the location to manage the situation and ensure public safety. The individual reported to be trackside was located and is being assessed by medical teams.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police confirmed:

We were called to Erith railway station following reports of a person on the tracks. Officers are in attendance along with London Fire Brigade and paramedics. The incident is being dealt with, and further updates will be provided in due course.”

Rail Disruption Expected

The presence of emergency services has caused temporary delays to rail services operating through Erith Station. Trains have been held or diverted while the area is made safe.
