Family Narrowly Escape 11,000 Volt Power Cables as they Crash down Onto major Road

A Family  have  escaped to tell the tale after  their  car ploughed  into high voltage Power Cables on a major trunk road this evening. The incident unfolded on the Northbound section of the A3 earlier this evening(Saturday)   The cable  that was carrying 11,000 Volt was blown down by storm force winds into the live traffic lanes of the busy A3  near Bramshott Chase in Surrey. A young child hat was in the same vehicle  was taken to hospital with a suspect broken arm and  other injuries. The incident closed both carriageways of the A3  whilst Emergency services from Surrey and Hampshire fire and rescue service  made the  area safe.  Four car lengths  behind was a fully laden petrol tanker.  The closure created massive 3 mile  traffic  jams in and around the area whilst  many tried to seek alternative routes. Specialists from Scottish and Southern were  called in to make the power cables safe. Many home in the area have been left without power.
