Minnie the Dog Rescued by Coastguard Search and Rescue Team in Portsmouth

A dog trapped in mud and at risk of sinking has been rescued by a coastguard search and rescue team. The search and rescue team and the RNLI Lifeboat from Portsmouth were called at just after 5.20pm to reports that the dog was trapped and sinking in mud at Eastney Lake, Langstone Harbour this evening. A concerned member of the public raised the alarm and called 999 after spotting the dog in distress. Working with the Portsmouth Inshore lifeboat, Minnie was rescued from her mud island. It is believed that Minnie had escaped around 3pm on Sunday afternoon from her owner. https:///youtu.be/CZF2Cnuq-bc Following the rescue, Minnie was taken to the lifeboat station for a clean up. Other than being cold, wet and muddy, she appears to have escaped unharmed. Minnie has since been reunited with her owners after her dramatic adventure and rescue.
