Mystery Surrounds Injured Man Found in Whitburn

Police Scotland in Whitburn are urging the public for information after a 44-year-old man was discovered injured on a grassed area along Turnhigh Road at approximately 9.45am on Saturday, January 27.

The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, was promptly transported to The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for medical attention. Detective Inspector Graham Garvie of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) revealed that officers are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the man’s injuries.

Reviewing CCTV footage and conducting house-to-house inquiries, the investigation has traced the man’s last known sightings. Detective Garvie outlined, “Our investigation has identified sightings of him around 11:30 pm on Friday, January 26, in North Reeves Place, followed by appearances around 1:00 am on Saturday, January 27, in Blaeberryhill Road and Netherton Grove. He was later discovered injured on Turnhigh Road.”

The man is described as approximately 6 feet tall, of slim build, with short dark hair. At the time of the incidents, he was reportedly wearing a black hooded top, a pink T-shirt, black jogging bottoms, and trainers.

Detective Inspector Garvie made a public appeal for cooperation, stating, “I would appeal to anyone who was in these areas around the specified times and saw a man matching this description, or anyone with dashcam footage or private CCTV, to please contact us.”

The telephone number to provide information regarding this case is 101, and callers are asked to reference case number 0996 of January 27, 2024.
