Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a collision on the M20 near Folkestone, between J11a and J12. Three fire engines and a technical rescue unit were dispatched. Emergency personnel from SECAmb, Kent Police, and the Kent, Surrey, and Sussex Air Ambulance Service joined the crews on the scene.
One person was airlifted to a hospital in uk/news/uk/tag/london-places/">london/" title="London" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked" data-wpil-monitor-id="76099">London with serious injuries.
The scene is still closed while specialist officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit conduct their investigations. Motorists are advised to avoid the area if at all possible, as the roads in and around Dover are already extremely congested due to port delays and heavy traffic volumes.
Kent Police have been approached for comment.
