A murder investigation has been launched following enquiries made by police into the body of a woman who was discovered in a south west London flat. At approximately 18:40hrs on Thursday, 7 March, police carried out a welfare check at a residential address on Este Road, SW11 following concerns for the female resident. Officers gained entry and found the body of a deceased woman that they now know to be 52-year-old Antoinette Donnegan. Next of kin have been informed. A post-mortem examination held on Saturday, 10 March was inconclusive and a second examination will be scheduled in due course. Following police enquiries, the death was deemed suspicious and a murder investigation was launched under the supervision of Detective Chief Inspector John Massey of the Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command. DCI Massey, said: “Although a precise cause of death remains to be established, I am satisfied that the circumstances surrounding Miss Donnegan’s death are suspicious. “We are keen to speak with anyone who may have been in contact with Antoinette in mid to late January this year or visited her at her home address during this time.” On Wednesday, 13 March, a 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder. He was taken to a south London police station where he remains in custody at this time. Anyone with information is asked to call the Incident Room on 020 8721 4868, Tweet @MetCC or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
