Romford House Fire: Residents Escape Through Window During Early Morning Blaze

A house fire in Belgrave Avenue, Romford prompted a dramatic early morning emergency response today, as residents were seen evacuating through a window to escape the flames.

The London Fire Brigade was mobilised at just after 5am, with crews called to reports of a blaze in the front room of a residential property.

Witnesses described plumes of smoke pouring from the front of the house as firefighters arrived swiftly at the scene. Residents inside the property were reportedly forced to climb through a window to escape the growing fire before emergency crews could fully enter the home.

Firefighters Battle Early Morning Blaze

Crews tackled the fire quickly and remained on scene to ventilate the property and conduct searches. The extent of damage and any injuries have not yet been officially confirmed by authorities, but initial reports suggest that multiple people were safely evacuated.

Local Response and Road Closures

Emergency services, including fire, police, and paramedics, were seen attending the scene. Belgrave Avenue has been temporarily closed to allow emergency access and safety operations.

Investigators are now working to determine the cause of the fire, which is believed to have started in the ground-floor living area.

Public Appeal

The fire brigade is urging residents in the area to ensure they have working smoke alarms and to close internal doors at night to help slow the spread of fire.
