A second teenager has been arrested following the fatal stabbing of 17-year-old Kieron Charles near East Acton Underground Station in West London.
Kieron was attacked around 1 pm on Saturday, 5 April, on Erconwald Street in Shepherd’s Bush, near the junction of Du Cane Road and Old Oak Common Lane. Emergency services rushed to the scene, but despite their efforts, Kieron was pronounced dead at the location.
A second boy, aged 16, was also stabbed during the incident. He was taken to the hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.
Shortly after the stabbing, police arrested a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of murder. In the early hours of Sunday morning, a second 16-year-old was also taken into custody in connection with the attack. Both suspects remain in custody, and no charges have been filed at this stage.
Detective Chief Inspector Alex Gammampila, leading the investigation, described the incident as tragic and senseless:
“This is an awful incident in which a teenager has lost his life. The thoughts of everyone in the Met remain with Keiron’s family and loved ones as they begin to come to terms with their tragic loss.”
DCI Gammampila also appealed for witnesses, particularly anyone who was in the area between 1 pm and 1:20 pm on Saturday, or anyone with any relevant information.
“Detectives have worked around the clock to follow every possible available line of enquiry, and I’m pleased that we have made two arrests as part of our early enquiries. While we are working hard to understand the exact circumstances, we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident at this stage.”

Local residents and community members have expressed shock and sadness over the death of Kieron, a young man from East Acton, described as having his whole life ahead of him.
