In a distressing episode that unfolded in West London, police apprehended a man seen wandering in his underpants, reportedly armed with a machete and a butcher’s knife, on Gordon Road, Ealing, early on Wednesday morning. The Metropolitan Police were summoned to the scene at approximately 8.14am, where they detained a 31-year-old man on charges of possessing an offensive weapon and affray.
The situation escalated when law enforcement discovered a man and woman inside a nearby residence, both suffering from knife-related injuries. The victims were promptly transported to a west London hospital for treatment, with updates on their condition pending. In a reassuring update, police confirmed that a child, also targeted in the incident, was unharmed and is currently safe.
Subsequently, the suspect was further detained under two counts of attempted murder. Though he did not sustain physical injuries during the arrest, he was taken to the hospital for assessment and remains in custody.
