Teen Tragically Dies in Shocking RIB Crash at Marchwood Marina
Fatal Accident Rocks Netley Marina
A 15-year-old girl has died following a terrifying collision between a rigid inflatable boat (RIB) and a buoy at Marchwood Marina, Netley. The crash happened at around 10:10am on the morning of 22 August.
Chaos on Board: 12 Hospitalised
Police, Coastguard, and the Marine Accident Investigation Branch are all investigating the incident. Twelve people aboard the boat were rushed to hospital with injuries. Sadly, one young passenger later died in hospital.
Ongoing Probe and Appeal to Witnesses
Hampshire Constabulary confirmed the girl’s family have been informed and are receiving specialist support. The police are urging anyone who witnessed the crash or has footage to come forward. Contact them on 101, quoting incident 554 of 22 August.
