Tragic Crash on A9 Claims Life of Woman Near Artafallie Junction

A fatal smash occurred on the A9 near the Artafallie junction on the Black Isle this morning. At around 10am GMT, a grey Nissan Micra was involved in a single-vehicle crash.

Woman Dies in Single-Car Collision

The sole occupant, a woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has not yet been released. The tragedy has sent shockwaves through the local community.

A9 Shut for Hours After Crash

Emergency services closed the A9 in both directions from the incident site until approximately 3pm, causing major delays. Police urged motorists to avoid the area where possible.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

“At this time, our thoughts are very much with the family and friends of the deceased,” said Sergeant David Miller. “Our enquiries into the circumstances remain ongoing. We are appealing for anyone who was driving between Munlochy and Tore this morning and may have seen the Nissan Micra involved to come forward.”
