Quick-Thinking Hero Swims to the Rescue

David Elphinstone, who was on his boat at Littlehampton Yacht Club, sprang into action. Without hesitation, he swam across the river to reach the struggling child. David kept both himself and the boy afloat, buying crucial time until help arrived.

RNLI lifeguards responded swiftly, arriving just in time to assist David and ensure the young boy’s safe recovery. Thankfully, there were no serious injuries.

Swimming in the harbour is dangerous and strongly discouraged. But thanks to David’s bravery and quick thinking, what could have been a tragedy ended in relief.
