Heroic Firefighters Rescue Pets from Tonbridge Blaze
Two fire engines raced to a house in Acorn Close, Tonbridge, after a fire broke out on the ground floor. Firefighters, wearing breathing apparatus, blasted the flames with hose reel jets and used a high-powered fan to clear the smoke.
Hamster and Fish Saved from Smoke
Remarkably, the brave crew rescued a hamster and pet fish trapped inside the smoky home. Thankfully, the occupants were out at the time, and no casualties were reported.
Firefighters Warn: Don’t Charge Devices Overnight
After the incident, the crew issued a stark warning. They urged the public to avoid charging electrical gadgets when going out or going to bed. Always use manufacturer-approved chargers and leads, they stressed.
“Place any charging batteries or devices on a non-flammable surface in a room with a working smoke detector,” the firefighters advised, emphasising fire safety to stop more dangerous blazes.
