Armed officers from the Met have surrounded a property on Oak Grove Road, Bromley, in South East London. The dramatic swoop was part of a “proactive operation,” officials say, and not terror-related.

Both armed and unarmed officers remain on site, with a tight cordon firmly in place. The action kicked off just after 8pm on Monday, 27 July.

Five Arrested Over Firearms – No Shots Fired

A spokesperson confirmed five suspects were hauled in on suspicion of firearms offences. They are now in custody at a south London police station.

“Armed officers have been working as part of a proactive operation in Oak Grove Road this evening, Monday, 27 July,” said the Met Police spokesman.

Thankfully, no shots were fired and no injuries have been reported so far.
