Paedophile Busted After Creepy Online Child Abuse Plot Uncovered

Towhid Choudhury, 26, of Camden’s Maitland Park Road, has been hauled before Wood Green Crown Court. The vile predator previously pleaded guilty to a string of horrific offences, including:

  • Distributing indecent photographs
  • Attempting to arrange or facilitate a child sex offence
  • Three counts of making indecent images of a child
  • Possessing prohibited child abuse images
  • Engaging in sexual activity in front of a child under 13

Met Police Raid Shows Scale of Choudhury’s Sick Online Activities

In September 2021, the Met’s Online Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation team swooped on Choudhury’s flat after receiving intelligence he was uploading indecent images of children online.

The raid uncovered two mobile phones cunningly hidden behind a shoe cupboard, alongside laptops, a hard drive, a tablet, and a USB stick packed with abuse material.

Choudhury didn’t even try to deny it. While officers searched his flat, he admitted to possessing indecent material and shockingly asked how long he might spend in prison. At the police station, he lamented: “I’m disgusting, I’ve got tendencies.”

Encrypted Devices and Sick Chats Show Predator’s Twisted Plans

Investigators found Choudhury was active on encrypted websites and messaging apps where child abuse materials are shared. His devices were rigged to auto-delete content if he was caught – but police moved fast to secure damning evidence first.

He was caught trading extreme pornographic videos and images of very young children, including babies. Some footage was self-produced.

The worst? Choudhury discussed detailed plans to abuse children under five with fellow perverts online.

Met Calls Choudhury a ‘Dangerous Offender’ – Warns Online Abuse Is Just as Nasty

PC Pete Howes, Met Online Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation team, said: “Choudhury is a dangerous offender planning to harm very young children.

“Had we not stopped him, there’s every reason to believe he would have gone through with it.

“He’s now locked up, where he poses no further threat to children.

“This case proves online offending is as serious and damaging as abuse that happens offline.

“We’ll keep teaming up with partners here and abroad to catch these vile predators wherever they hide online. When they surface in London, the Met will hunt them down and bring them to justice.”
