Lockdown Dog Shadow Seeks Forever Home in Newport
Shadow, a three-year-old Staffordshire bull terrier cross, landed at the Newport RSPCA centre on March 24, straight from Cwmbran. Underweight and undernourished, he’s made a remarkable recovery under their care.
Behaviour Plan in Place as Shadow Looks for Patient Owner
Known as the “lockdown pooch,” Shadow arrived during Wales’ first national lockdown. He’s on a behaviour plan due to jumping up at people, but staff say he’s full of character and charm.
“Shadow is such a handsome, wonderful dog,” said Kath Logan from Newport Animal Centre. “He needs a patient owner to work with his behaviour plan and help him settle into his new home. We will fully support any new adopter.”
Adoptober Push Highlights Benefits of Rescue Pets
As part of the RSPCA Adoptober campaign, Newport is urging local animal lovers to step forward. New coronavirus lockdown rules mean adoption visits are limited to residents within the Newport city council area – to prevent travel in and out of lockdown zones.
Anyone interested in giving Shadow a loving home can call 0300 123 0744 or email [email protected]. The centre is hopeful Shadow will find his perfect match and end 2020 with a happy new start.
