Rail Chaos as Dead Body Found on East Coast Main Line
National Rail has warned of major disruption until at least 7pm after a tragic incident closed the East Coast Main Line between King’s Cross and Peterborough. Passengers face cancellations and delays of up to 90 minutes.
Fatality Near Harringay Station
The line shut down around 3pm while emergency services worked at the scene. British Transport Police confirmed officers were called at 2:27pm following reports of a casualty on the tracks near Harringay station.
Deceased Identified, No Suspicious Circumstances
Paramedics attended but sadly pronounced the person dead at the scene. “Officers are formally identifying the deceased and notifying next of kin,” said a BTP spokesperson. The death is not being treated as suspicious, with a coroner’s file to be prepared.
Commuters are urged to check before travelling as delays and cancellations continue through the evening rush hour.
