A12 Shuts Down After Pedestrian Hit by Vehicle in Essex
The A12 is completely closed both ways between the A130 and A414 near Chelmsford following a shocking pedestrian collision. Essex Police are on the scene leading the investigation. Collision experts say the probe and clean-up will take hours.
Major Delays Expected – Follow These Detours
If you’re heading southbound, get off at junction 19 (Boreham). Then take the A130 through one roundabout to the A130/A1016 roundabout. Take the second exit onto the A1016 and follow it to the A1016/A414 roundabout. Again, take the second exit and follow the A414 to rejoin the A12 at junction 15 (Webbs Farm Interchange).
Northbound drivers should follow the reverse route to avoid the closure.
Plan Ahead, Expect Delays
Essex Police urge all motorists to allow extra travel time while the accident investigation and road clearance take place.
