Police suspect that Abdul Ezedi, sought after a chemical assault in Clapham, may have leapt from Chelsea Bridge into the Thames, preferring to surrender. Since January 31, the Met has been on the lookout for Ezedi, 35, following his attack on a mother and her daughters with a chemical, leaving the mother with severe injuries.
Despite extensive efforts, there’s speculation he might have drowned post-attack. Raids in Newcastle tied to Ezedi have been conducted, but his whereabouts remain a mystery.
The motivation behind the attack appears linked to a relationship breakdown. Ezedi’s last known location was near Chelsea Bridge, raising possibilities of his demise in the river.
The search includes counter-terrorism teams, and a £20,000 reward has been offered for information leading to his arrest. Concerns have been raised regarding Ezedi’s asylum status in the UK despite a prior sex offence conviction.
