Bogus Vaccine Passport Emails on the Loose – Don’t Get Scammed!
Scammers are hitting inboxes with fake emails offering a so-called “vaccine passport.” They claim this passport will let you travel the globe safely and skip self-isolation. Tricksters lure victims into clicking links that lead to dodgy online forms, begging for personal and financial info. Some of these forms even mimic the official NHS website – tricky stuff!
How to Stay Safe from Vaccine Passport Scammers
Remember, in the UK, COVID-19 vaccines are only available through the NHS services in England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. You’ll be contacted by the NHS, your GP, pharmacist, or employer. The jab is always free – never pay a penny.
- The NHS will never ask for your bank or card details.
- The NHS will never ask for your PIN or banking passwords.
- The NHS will never show up unannounced at your door to give you a vaccine.
- The NHS will never ask for copies of personal ID like passports, driving licences, bills, or payslips.
