Microsoft Outlook users in Europe have been hit by a major outage since 9 a.m. on Tuesday, June 21. Many are unable to access their mailboxes or experiencing delays sending and receiving emails.
Microsoft Scrambles to Fix Traffic Management Glitch
The software giant revealed its traffic management system “is not working as expected.” In a statement, Microsoft said, “We successfully routed traffic to an alternate traffic management method, and service availability has improved since.”
The company is still analysing data to find the root cause and prevent further disruption.
Not Connected: Users Battle Server Errors Across Devices
According to Down Detector, thousands of users report error messages about failing to connect to Outlook servers. The blackout spans numerous devices, frustrating users trying to check emails.
Luckily, this outage is unrelated to the early Tuesday Cloudflare crash that took down many popular websites. Cloudflare has confirmed that their issue has been fixed.

Microsoft is working to restore full Outlook service and promises updates. In the meantime, affected customers will have to tough it out as engineers race against the clock to fix the glitch.
