Armed police and a National Police Air Service (NPAS) helicopter were deployed to Bembridge Village on the Isle of Wight late Saturday evening.

Shortly before 9pm, NPAS Bournemouth scrambled an air asset to the area following reports of a serious incident near the popular Crab and Lobster pub. Armed officers from Hampshire and the Isle of Wight joined the response.

Police Rally with Dogs and Vans at Multiple Locations

Officers, accompanied by a police dog and two police vans, attended addresses on Howgate, Egerton Road, and Beachfield Road. The activity followed a reported incident at the Welcome Cooperative convenience store in Lane End.

Shop Staff Confirm Incident, Offer Few Details

A staff member at the convenience store confirmed an incident had taken place but declined to provide further details. The store manager is cooperating with Hampshire Police.
