Knife-Wielding Robber Hits Greggs in Broad Daylight
Police hunt man who threatened staff and stole £180 cash in Southsea.
Knife Threat at Greggs on Palmerston Road
Just before 5.40pm on Tuesday, January 3, a man stormed into a Greggs shop on Palmerston Road, Southsea. He shouted aggressively at one staff member before forcing his way behind the counter. Wielding a knife, he demanded the till’s cash, which he stuffed into his bag.
Two Staff Left Shaken
A second employee came out from the back, and the robber ordered both members of staff to lie on the floor. After grabbing around £180, he fled the scene, leaving the pair terrified.
Help Police Catch the Thief
The suspect is described as a white man in his mid-30s, dressed in black tracksuit bottoms, a black coat with the hood up, and white trainers. He carried a black rucksack.
Detective Constable Sharon Lewry said: “Were you in Palmerston Road on Tuesday, January 3 between 5.25pm and 5.40pm? Did you see this man inside the Greggs or leaving the area towards Kent Road? The two members of staff have been left very frightened by what has happened to them. If you have any information that could help us find this man, please get in touch.”
