Fire Destroys Timber Outbuilding at East Kent Railway

Kent Fire and Rescue Service raced to the scene after reports of a blaze in a timber outbuilding at the East Kent Railway site in Shepherdswell, near Dover.

Four fire engines battled the flames using two main jets to bring the fire under control.

Volunteers Devastated by Suspected Arson Attack

Volunteers at the railway today revealed the shocking cause may be arson and vandalism. They expressed heartbreak over the damage to their equipment, power tools, generator, and recovered railway artifacts.

“This is a gutting time for our volunteers who work so hard to make the EKR a place for everyone to enjoy,” the team said.
