Chaos erupted on the A13 this morning after a massive nine-vehicle crash near Dagenham brought the eastbound carriageway to a standstill.

Nine-Vehicle Pile-Up Halts A13 Traffic

At around 9am on October 3, a shocking smash involving eight cars and a lorry slammed the A13 between Ripple Road and Marsh Way. The eastbound lanes ground to a halt, leaving frustrated drivers stuck in long delays.

One Man Hospitalised, No One Trapped

Emergency services rushed to the scene, but thankfully no one was trapped in the wreckage. One man was treated on site before being rushed to hospital.

“One fire engine from Wennington fire station was called to a road traffic collision involving eight vehicles and one lorry on the A13 eastbound carriageway, between Ripple Road and Marsh Way in Dagenham, this morning,” said an LFB spokesperson. “The Brigade’s 999 Control officers took the first call at 08:57 and the incident was over by 09:28. No one was trapped. The eastbound carriageway remains closed so motorists are advised to avoid the area.”

Emergency Crews on the Scene

The London Ambulance Service sent an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car, and an incident response officer. They treated the injured man at the scene before taking him to hospital for further care.

“We were called at 8:57am today (3 October) to reports of a road traffic collision on the A13, in Dagenham,” said a London Ambulance Service spokesperson. “We sent an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car and an incident response officer to the scene. We treated a patient at the scene and took him to hospital.”

Drivers Urged to Avoid Crash Zone

The A13 eastbound remains shut, causing severe delays. London Fire Brigade has urged motorists to steer clear of the area while investigations continue. The Met Police have been contacted for comment.
