RNLB Norman Harvey Rescues Stranded Trimaran Off Bembridge
Coastguard Calls in Lifeboat for Trimaran Rescue
At around 5.30pm this afternoon, the UK Coastguard sprang into action, launching the RNLB Norman Harvey (D-778) to assist a 20-foot trimaran stuck on the lee shore near Bembridge Groyne.
Two Crew Stranded, Lifeboat to the Rescue
The trimaran’s two crew members couldn’t haul up their anchor. An Inshore lifeboat crew member boarded the boat and managed to free the stubborn anchor. A tow was then arranged to pull the vessel safely into harbour.
Swift Recovery Completed
Once safely handed over to harbour staff, the Norman Harvey returned to station and was recovered by 6pm, wrapping up the quick and efficient rescue.
