Tragic End to Search for Missing 21-Year-Old Sebastian Sailes
Body Found in Multi-Agency Operation
A grim discovery has brought an end to the search for Sebastian Sailes, 21, who vanished from Chippenham. Specialist divers recovered a body during a coordinated multi-agency search on Tuesday 11 March 2025.
The recovery was part of a joint effort involving Avon & Somerset Police, the Metropolitan Police, and Wiltshire Police, who led the extensive operation.
Authorities Believe Body is Missing Young Man
While formal identification is still pending, officials strongly believe the body is that of Sebastian. His disappearance sparked a large-scale search with multiple agencies pooling resources to find him.
Family Supported Amid Heartbreak
Wiltshire Police confirmed Sebastian’s family has been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers during this painful time.
“Our divers, working with Avon & Somerset Police and the Metropolitan Police, located the 21-year-old missing person from Chippenham on Tuesday 11 March. Our sincere condolences are with the family at this incredibly difficult time,” said a spokesperson for the dive and recovery team.
