Fire Breaks Out Again at Derelict Brighton Building

A blaze tore through a derelict site on Gladstone Terrace, Lewes Road, Brighton, Thursday night. East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (ESFRS) rushed to the scene to tackle the flames. This marks the fourth fire at the same neglected building in recent times, leaving locals on edge.

Residents Fear for Safety as Fires Keep Coming

One neighbour, who has lived next door for two years, said: “This is now the fourth fire I’ve witnessed since living here. I’ve seen people come and go from the building, and it’s becoming increasingly worrying.”

Another added: “I’m not sure if the building is derelict or being used as a squat. What I do know is that there are tyres inside, which is concerning.”

Community Calls for Action Amid Rising Concerns

The repeated fires have stoked fears over safety and security in the area. Local residents want urgent measures to prevent more dangerous incidents.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service has been contacted for comment.
