Early morning emergency in south-east London
Firefighters were scrambled shortly after 8am to reports of a fire on Adelaide Avenue, Brockley. Roads were shut both ways between Brockley Road and Montague Avenue as crews battled the blaze.
Heavy emergency response at scene
The London Ambulance Service deployed multiple units, including ambulance crews, paramedics, fast response cars, the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART), and a trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance.
“We were called at 8.06am to reports of a fire in Brockley Road, Brockley. We treated three patients at the scene and took them all to a major trauma centre as a priority,” said a spokesperson.
The condition of the three victims remains unclear.
Travel chaos as roads remain closed
The fire has caused major disruption. Adelaide Avenue is still closed. Traffic is backed up along Brockley Road toward Crofton Park. Bus route 122 has been diverted due to the incident.
Fire under control but investigation pending
