BAFTA Awards Delay Call the Midwife Series 14 Finale
Fans of the BBC’s smash hit Call the Midwife will have to wait an extra week to catch the latest drama. The BAFTA Film Awards clash means episode seven, originally set for Sunday, February 16 at 8 PM, has been pushed back to February 23.
This scheduling shake-up also delays the Series 14 finale, now airing the first weekend of March.
Why the Delay? BAFTAs Take Centre Stage
This isn’t the first time the BAFTAs have bumped Call the Midwife. Last year’s Series 13 finale suffered the same fate. This year, the awards ceremony is hosted by David Tennant and will feature big hitters like Conclave, Wicked, Anora, and Dune: Part Two in the running.
What’s Next for Call the Midwife?
When the show returns on February 23, expect drama and heartbreak:
- Joyce faces a heartbreaking choice after a mother suffers severe complications.
- A council strike triggers an outbreak of Weil’s disease, threatening the whole community.
- Cyril’s life takes a shocking twist, leaving fans desperate for answers.
Will Matthew Make a Comeback?
Fans are buzzing about whether Olly Rix will return as Matthew. The character left for New York to chase new business dreams, leaving Trixie (played by Helen George) to juggle life between the UK and US.
“Who knows!” Helen George told 1. “It’ll be interesting to see what happens there. At the moment, I don’t know, and I’m excited to find out what happens.”
Where to Watch
Call the Midwife Series 14 airs on BBC One and is available on BBC iPlayer. Despite the delay, anticipation is sky-high as viewers brace for an emotional finale in early March.
