Avon & Somerset Police have dropped a CCTV image of a man they urgently want to quiz. The footage ties into a hate crime aimed at Jehovah’s Witnesses in Minehead.
Threatening Letter Sparks Alarm
At around 8.20pm on Friday, 20 March, a threatening letter was left at a Jehovah’s Witnesses’ address. This nasty note adds to a rising string of hate incidents targeting the Christian group and the Kingdom Hall on Mart Road.
Man in White Cowboy Hat Identified
The police describe the man in the CCTV as wearing a white cowboy-style hat, chequered trousers, and a jumper with a white stripe down the sleeve. They believe he could have key info to crack the case.
One Arrest, Investigation Ongoing
- A man in his fifties has been arrested but released on conditional bail.
- The force has completed CCTV checks, house-to-house inquiries, and forensic tests.
- They now appeal for anyone who saw the described man in town centre on 20 March to come forward.
