Dual Tunnel Disaster Brings Eurotunnel Travel to a Standstill
Chaos struck the Eurotunnel in Folkestone, Kent tonight as both tunnels were blocked, leaving dozens of drivers trapped in freezing conditions. Severe delays have brought cross-Channel traffic to a complete halt.
Train Malfunctions Cause Major Eurotunnel Gridlock
Earlier today, a train entering the tunnel snagged its pantograph on overhead cables, ripping down 600 metres of wire. Meanwhile, a second train suffered a broken axle in the adjacent tunnel and had to be towed out.
With both tunnels blocked, vehicles are stranded inside the Eurotunnel, worsening the travel nightmare.
Passengers Angry Over Chaos and Zero Updates
One passenger, stuck on a stationary train for nearly two hours, slammed the lack of information from officials.
“Staff don’t know what’s going on. We’ve been boarded but the train isn’t moving. The original problem hasn’t been fully fixed. Why board people on trains that are going nowhere? The lack of information is just unacceptable.”
Frustrated travellers remain trapped in bitter cold with no clear end in sight to the disruptions.
