Late Night Chemical Scare in Regal Walk

A child was taken to hospital following a chemical spill at a block of flats on Regal Walk near Albion Road, Bexleyheath. The alarm was raised just after 9:30 PM on May 24.

Firefighters Race to Contain Hazard

The London Fire Brigade quickly dispatched crews from Bexley and Erith. Around 30 firefighters worked swiftly to monitor and reduce elevated chemical levels at the scene.

One Child Treated as Precaution, No Other Injuries

A spokesperson said: “Firefighters responded to reports of a chemical smell in a ground-floor storage room. Specialist equipment was used to contain the spill and ventilate the area. One child was taken to hospital as a precaution.” Thankfully, no other injuries were reported.

Situation Brought Under Control by Early Hours

The operation wrapped up shortly after 12:30 AM on May 25, with all chemical readings back to safe limits. Fire crews confirmed the incident was fully under control by 12:36 AM.
