Massive Search Underway for Missing Man on Dover Cliffs

The Coastguard and Kent Police have launched a major search operation after a man went missing near St Margaret’s Bay, Kent, this evening (Saturday 20th August 2022).

Emergency Services Scramble to St Margaret’s Bay

Emergency vehicles from the UK Coastguard and Kent Police were spotted on Hotel Road, responding to reports of the missing man.

Teams from Deal, Dover, and Folkestone Coastguard units have joined the hunt, alongside an RNLI lifeboat dispatched from Walmer to scour the waters.

Missing Man in His 60s Considered High Risk

The man, believed to be in his 60s, has been missing for several hours and is considered high risk, prompting the large-scale search.

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency said: “Coastguard rescue teams are working with Kent Police to search for a man who has been reported missing. The search is ongoing and led by Kent Police.

Kent Police have been approached for further comment.
