Care Home Staff Bust Moves and Stockpile Supplies Amid Lockdown
A Hampshire care home has nailed the lockdown life with dance and dedication. The team at Bracken-lea care home in Shawford showed off their fancy footwork and stocked-up supplies as a strict visitor ban came into force.
Dancing Through the Lockdown Blues
Residents and staff were caught on camera cutting a rug to Elvis Presley’s Rock Around the Clock. They danced with packs of toilet rolls and bottles of hand sanitizer, proving you can have fun while staying safe.
“The residents think we look funny in our protective gear – but it hasn’t bothered them one bit,” says Activity Co-ordinator Stef.
Lockdown Life: Loo Rolls and Guinness Cheers
- Visitors banned to stop Covid-19 spread
- Residents enjoy alternative contact via Skype and phone calls
- St Patrick’s Day celebrations included cups of Guinness, but spirits were high for other reasons!
Bracken-lea care home, which houses 125 residents aged 70 to 100, has secured four awards for its outstanding care. Staff are rocking full protective coveralls and face masks but haven’t let it dull their spirits.
Going Viral for All the Right Reasons
The heartwarming video, shared with family permission and viewed as far away as Las Vegas, aims to spread smiles during grim times. Stef adds,
“Our number one priority is the health and safety of our residents. No shortage of loo rolls here!”
Salute to the care heroes keeping Britain’s vulnerable safe and entertained in these tough times.
