Deadly Methane Blast Rocks Iranian Coal Mine

At least 30 miners have died and dozens more injured after a brutal methane explosion tore through a coal mine in eastern Iran. The disaster struck late on Saturday night at a mine in Tabas, about 335 miles southeast of Tehran, according to state media.

Rescue Operations Underway as Hunt for Survivors Continues

The state-run IRNA news agency reported that around 70 workers were inside the mine when the blast hit. Emergency teams raced to the scene immediately. Early reports suggested 24 miners were trapped underground, while 28 managed to escape to hospitals nearby with injuries.

Officials are still unsure if anyone else remains trapped as rescue crews dig deeper. Authorities are scrambling to assess the full scale of the disaster and damage caused by the explosion.
