Six Weeks Since Mysterious M61 Car Blaze and Baby Birth

It’s been over six weeks since Constance Marten and Mark Gordon’s car was found ablaze on the hard shoulder of the M61 on January 5. Shocking details have emerged revealing Constance is believed to have given birth in or near that very car just days before the incident—all without any medical care.

Missing Family on the Run with Newborn

Police are still desperate to find the family. It’s unclear if the baby was born full-term or what condition they are in, with no contact with health services so far. Investigators say the family could be anywhere in the UK.

“They were last seen on January 8 with a blue two-man tent,” police revealed. “Keep your eyes peeled, especially in waste ground, beauty spots, or anywhere walkers and dog owners might spot them.”

The family may not always be together. It’s possible Constance or Mark could be out getting supplies while the other stays with the baby.

Public Plea: Help Find Constance, Mark and Baby

Authorities stress they are searching with care, not to cause trouble but to safeguard the health of the baby and parents.

“We genuinely care about their well-being and are committed to ensuring they’re safe,” said police sources.

If you have any information or think you’ve seen them, call the incident room on 020 7175 0785. Only dial 999 if you are with them right now. Otherwise, contact the incident room.

Whereabouts Traced So Far

  • On January 8, the pair were seen leaving a taxi carrying an orange carrier bag and a pram, faces concealed by masks. Mark wore white plastic bags on his shoes.
  • At 1.24am, they headed to Newhaven, arriving outside the port at 4.56am.
  • By 6am, they sheltered under a flyover near where the A259 meets the B2109.
  • They were spotted walking along Cantercrow Hill, carrying bags and a blue tent, believed to be camping in the fields since.

With so much time passed, it’s possible the family has moved far from this area. The search is ongoing, and public vigilance remains crucial.
